Also known as: Bajlonijeva pijaca

Why visit: Fresh organic food, Cheap, Architecture, Skadarlija street

Skadarlija market is one of the largest and most important markets in downtown Belgrade, located in Dorćol, below Skadarska street. It’s divided in four parts, and you can find practically anything in or around the market.

Villagers from all across Serbia sell fresh fruits and vegetables, but there are also resellers of other more “exotic” products such as lemons, avocados, etc. There are also several fisheries and butcher shops, offering a great variety of fish or meat.

Bajloni market is surrounded by beautiful merchant houses from the turn of the century, and it is intended to be converted into a large square in the next few years, keeping the market but with some changes.
